I started Last Ditch as a place to document my experiments in growing food while also trying to better understand climate change and food security. If you’ve ever been kept up late at night worrying about climate change, Last Ditch is for you.
Last Ditch aims to curate resources at the intersections of agriculture, permaculture, science, climate change, and politics in an attempt to provide tangible answers to our biggest food growing challenges. We also hope to simplify and explain complex topics so that we may all plan for a livable future.
I don’t believe permaculture, regenerative farming or any one thing can save us from climate change but I do think there is a lot we can teach each other and learn along the way!

📰 Sources I use for blogs
I make every effort to inform myself before talking about something. That takes time, so I don’t always immediately respond to something, even if it is really relevant. I try to read at least one book if I can, look at the historical context, and rely on respected, peer reviewed sources wherever possible. The following news sites I find generally pretty good but each of them have their own biases and weaknesses:
1. The Guardian
2. Yahoo News
3. AP News
4. Al Jazeera
*I will also occasionally post from sources like The Economist and Fox News to contextualize what people I disagree with are saying, in their own words. My use of these sources is in no way an endorsement of them as trusted sources.
